Sarah J Pounders – University of Arkansas, B.I.D.

Sarah has been in the design field over 15 years. She has always shown an appreciation for a well designed space and the work of a good craftsman. Growing up in a small farm town, there wasn’t a lot of opportunity to enjoy the arts and design world. While on family vacations, she would admire the architecture and interior design of the different places she visited. Sarah contributes her design talent to her mother, who always had a great eye for design. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Arkansas, and after college, began working in granite and lighting sales.

Although not a traditional design start, this experience was a great foundation for gaining knowledge about materials, installations, and building relationships with clients and their contractors. “I love working on my client’s new construction projects, but it is equally satisfying to recreate a space in their home using many of their existing items”. When it comes to defining your personal space, it should not be an overwhelming challenge. I believe every home should tell a story about who lives there. It is important for me to understand the client’s lifestyle and reflect their personality in my finished work. I love the element of surprise! It’s not uncommon for a client to walk in a room and see an unexpected feature. In 2005 she began working with Gracious Living Interiors. Sarah enjoys working with clients to create custom looks for their existing homes, as well as assisting clients through the new construction process. When not working, Sarah enjoys spending time outside and traveling with her husband and son.

Anne Gibbons – University of Arkansas

Born in Fort Smith, Anne moved at a young age to Hendersonville, Tennessee where she lived through high school. In her many years there, her father Marion opened up the Southern states for Rheem Manufacturing and built custom homes for a hobby. Her mom Lynnda, who mastered in Fine Art, owned a wholesale and retail arts and crafts business and was a renowned artist that taught seminars in various types of painting techniques. Between those two influences and environments her love of the details of homes, architecture and art were a natural passion. Anne returned to Arkansas to study at the University where her grandparents lived and where both generations had gone to school.

Upon her completion, with a degree in Home Economics specializing with Interior Design and In-House Equipment, she married and stayed in Northwest Arkansas. She has three children, Haley-23, Samuel-19, and Blake-13. She enjoys in her free time traveling, shopping, “wandering” in galleries, canoeing, fishing and anything else outdoors with her family. She has an affinity for art and fabrics! She really loves letting her clients delve into their imaginations for making their house a home. Her favorite homes tend to be the ones that are a true reflection of the client’s travels, collections and personalities. She prides herself on the mantra of “once a client always a client” and vast diversity in her client base speaks true to that!
